Tacks for shoemaking

Manufactured at Rivierre since the beginning, the shoe-making tacks "Au Lion" is one of the company's specialties. Generations of cobblers have been using it since the 19th century, and its quality is recognized worldwide.

Countersunk tacks are used to attach metal plates to the ends of soles and under heels. With its square-section body and countersunk head, you will find here the cobbler's tack par excellence. Its tip, in contact with the steel of the protective sole form, turns effortlessly. "It is said that the tip is 'riveted' onto the mounting first, thus providing undeniable resistance to tearing (FFCM, 2023)."

How to choose the right countersunk tack ?

- Choose the metal and finish of the nail: extra mild raw steel | blued steel | brass
- Choose the length of the nail among those proposed for each metal, between 8 and 26 mm

The shoemaker tacks are sold in boxes of 1 kg.

Usages tips

Countersunk tacks may cut a thread. Do not use on a Goodyear-welted or Blake-stitched shoe. It is recommended to run your hand inside each shoe, on the tip of the last, to appreciate the quality of the tacking of the tacks.
